The residents of Hutton Roof, Newbiggin and Sealford are a very sociable lot and enjoy many get-togethers throughout the year. Most of these centre on the Village Hall and raise funds for its upkeep.

It is fair to say that most of the events also centre around food and drink, enjoying the fruits of each others labours and of local producers.

Crafty chatter at the village hall

Craft group with Heather Onions at the Village Hall
A monthly craft group for all different types of fibre crafts. So spinners, knitters, weavers etc welcome. 2 hours each evening, £3 per session with tea and coffee. Spinners should bring their own wheels. Bring a work in progress or try something new.

Friday 21st February
Village Hall


Great fun for kids and adults alike. Inter-village competition – come on Hutton Roofers. This exciting event is not to be missed entrance only £1.50 for adults, 75p for children, to include refreshments, all in aid of church funds. There will also be a raffle.

Talk on Gardening For Bees
Did you know there is a Bee Reserve at Brigsteer? It is run by Bee Ed and they will be coming to give a talk about gardening for bees. They will be covering bee identification, what humans need, what flowers need, what bees need, why bees need gardeners and what gardeners can do for bees £2.50 including refreshments

As usual we will be asking for your help with this, our main annual fund raising event and of course – a grand day out. We are very grateful for all help! If you would like to volunteer for anything from traffic management to ice cream sales, fell race marshal to cake baking or have any suggestions for stalls, side-shows or attractions please contact any member of the village hall committee
